    Need structural design book?

Does anyone know of a good book that covers structural design concepts? For example, whats the best way to join the top of a bookshelf to a side.

I have no problem designing a visually please piece, but I'm still kind of sketchy on the mechanical side. I mean it doesn't really matter how good it looks, if it falls apart because joints fail, or boards split after a short time.

One of the classics is Tage Frid's Teaching Woodworking set. He was a fine woodworker and teacher (at Rhode Island School of Design). The books were a big part of my early education as a woodworker. Originally there were three separate books, but I think they've been republished as a one-book compilation.

Jamie, thanks for the reply, I looked up the series and that sounds like exactly what I'm looking for.
