    polyester - Laser Safe?

    Did a quick search but will ask again

    is thermo set polyester as used in a plastic gun grip safe to laser?

    It should be but you really have to look at the MSDS for that manufacturer to be sure. I checked one for Crane Composites and it has fiberglass reinforcement added, but should still be fine.

    Polyester (mylar and other trade names) are one of the safer materials to use. Downside is they won't stretch like vinyls. The metallic engravable material usually has a polyester base.
