    Koa bowl

This is a Koa bowl, 7 X 2.75. I picked up a couple large chunks of Koa from a guy in Honolulu the last time I was there. This is the first turning that I have completed from the score. Koa is great wood to work with and in the right light the grain pattern just glows. I am really happy with the shape and the wall thickness, about 3/8. I tend to like my bowls on the ‘beefy’ side.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Yet another beauty! Love the form and the finish gives it that warm glow. Outstanding to say the least.
