    "Wedge" tongue and groove joints

Are the "wedge" tongue and groove joints any better (stronger, easier to make, etc) than standard tongue and groove joints?

I have read those who sell router bits advertise that they are indeed better - but of course, they are trying to sell a product I never knew existed (and of course, I never knew I needed).

I thought I'd post the question here and see if anyone has had experiences with wedge tongue and groove joints.

I use both. My old sears Craftsman moulding head uses the beveled profile, and I have other cutters (and use the table saw method) that uses the straight method.

I don't think either is better than the other.

I tend to glue my straight ones, but I let my beveled ones float (like for the bottom panel of a cedar chest). But that's just quirky me.

If by wedge tongue and groove you mean ones that have a bevel on the tongue and groove, they're easier to assemble than a straight sided joint.
