    Newbie - First Workbench

I have been out of woodworking for the last 4 years after I moved to Florida, and bought a house last year, with a big 2 car garage. I have decided build a workshop in it, and to get started I built the first of 3 workbenches.

Welcome to the Creek Matt! Good to have you aboard.

I have found setting up the shop is half the fun.
If yours will be like mine it will be a work in progress for a few years to come.
A nice solid bench will be where the rest of the shop will be built on.

Welcome and nice.. solid start. Are you going to leave the bottom open as is or add a shelf on top to store? Anyway.. the bench foundation is well done and should eliminate any rack...

    Sarge..

The top is made of SYP 2"x4" glued together and held with 4 thread rods and the out side is trimmed with 1"x4" Red Oak. I am going to leave the bottom open and use it to store my tool boxes but wont let the dust pile up.

I have attached another picture showing the top.
