    Solidworks picture import

    Hi there,

I am a little new to solidworks - but functional - not great, just functional.

I posted about the clock and looking for design ideas.

Well - I do have some ideas.

First - I need to get better at Solidworks for LOTS of reasons

Second - I want a Cherry wood color - but cherry is not in th list. - I am hoping I can take a picture of cherry and just import it and create what I need.

Third - I would like to import the clock pic I have and somehow paste it on the face of my assembly.

Whew - that sounds like a lot to me.

    Can ya help?

Again - if I am in the wrong place - please - forgiveness - and direction.

    Leo

You should be able to insert it as a decal. Go to the SOlidworks help screen and type in decal. It should be pretty easy to follow.

I actually had the Solidworks trainer in the plant today. She was in for something else - but I got her to show me how to do it.

It was done with tools/sketch tools/insert picture.

The picture can pe resized and placed on the sketch.

It is called a sketch picture.

    So I did it tonight.

    Pretty cool actually.

I am still a little rough around the edges - but I am learning.

Someday I will get good at it.
