    Question Weekend doin's?

What're ya'll up to this weekend?

Looks like I am going to be spending some time cleaning out flower beds since things are starting to grow and bloom around here. Also need to clean out the fish pond and probably mow the weeds in the yard so the grass will have room to grow.

As far as woodworking, I want to get the finish completed on a CD storage box I have been working on and get a couple of "paying" projects started.

    Have a great weekend all,
    Bob

    work on the shop

Main plans are to get my lumber storage rack moved into the storage area of my shop. Then reframing a window and adding another outlet on the wall the lumber storage currently lives on. Finally, completing the wall insulation of the shop. I will then be ready for my wall covering.

I also may get a new storm door installed on my garage and add some additional lighting. Maybe even finishing an ash bowl I've started last weekend.
Don't burn the wood, turn the wood.

    A Really busy weekend

We have a fully booked weekend. Soccer, relatives, friends, more friends, whew!

I was hoping to have this finished by the weekend, but alas, it's not to be:

Maybe I'll squeeze in a little time and get the finish on it.

    Bowl turnings ...

I have a lady at work wanting one 14" and four 7" salad bowls from the cherry blanks I have. Here's a picture of a tile picture the lady made and traded me for the bowls. It's on 4" tiles three wide and ten tall. She makes her own tiles, fires them, paints them and then glazes them. It'll go in our new house next spring. I need to get the bowls rough turned and into the LDD for a couple of days. I plan on doing these Saturday since it's supposed to be nice. I'll move the lathe outside the shop and turn. I really like being able to turn outside. I'll probably throw in a couple of pens, too. Saturday night SWMBO and I are heading to Tappahannock to an Oyster roast at a friend's hunt club. Should be a fun evening. Have fun turning.

    Cool Possibly an auction

Might check out an auction tomorrow. Something about a "Wood Fast" jointer. Still haven't found anything out about it, but may just check it out in person. Then still have putzin' around the house stuff to do (finish trimming out bsmt. windows). May try another Corian pen or two. Have a great weekend and, you all be safe out there!

    Install Display Cabinets

SWMBO wants the upper display cabinets mounted in time for a dinner party we have planned Saturday night. Hopefully I will get time to work on a couple of sets of raised panel doors.

    Stuff to do!

Let's see.............Need to clean up the yard some...........restack the Firewood that always seems to get messed up when my Son Hauls wood? Clean out our Fish Pond, and maybe clean up the Garage some. Also have to get 2 Slot Car Boxes completed to the finish stage, so I can get them shipped next week. With the sale of these 2 boxes, I have my Mad Money for either my new Band Saw or Planer.............haven't decided yet which I want to get first. Oh...............the decisions!

    My "Perpetual Shop Cabinet"

My shop cabinet is almost finished. First thing in the morning:
    • Bobby and I need to clean up.
    • I'm sending Bobby up on the roof to fix leaks.
    • The framers screwed up the framing. We will have to shim up the bottom purlin and re-screw the roof. The framers knew this because they shimed one section. We think we can get the shims in place from the inside w/o removing any roof panels or insulation.
    • Then we will start closing in some remaining wall sections where the storage cabinet(s) will go.
    <center>Then after breakfast...

I need to burn 2 large brush piles including a bunch of stain rags, etc. We need to move some pecky cypress from outside storage into the lumber racks. I have a pile of red oak stickered in the shop.
.....I got my Moistec Moisture meter in this week. I checked this pile of red oak and get @11%. That seems to be the normal moisture level in my shop. The Red Oak is random width @ 42" long. I want to un sticker it and put it into the lumber racks to make room for another load of the same stuff. A friend gets this stuff from a flooring manufacturer. It's culls.
.....I have finish drying on the last piece of the cabinet. I will get a photo up in weekend accomplishments on Monday. I will wait until next weekend to hang the doors to let the finish cure out first.

    Wellll here's the plan

Sat. Morning clean up the shop section of my garage some.
Bring in the drill press I picked up the other day & get it running.
maybe work on a box for a little bit.

Sat. Afternoon meet a REALTOR friend to list one of my rental properties for sale - man would it be nice if it sells.

Sat night work at a fundraising ham dinner at Church to raise money for our ASP trip to Logan County WV this summer.

Sunday Church & maybe even some real shop time for the first time in about 3 months.

Hope I get to do at least most of this.

    Have a good weekend
