need help finding buyers of black walnut trees

My grandfather has several black walnut trees on his property in Sheridan Illinois. He is interested in selling them to someone who is willing to come and cut them down. The city is building a road through his property and will be cutting them down anyway, so he would rather sell them first. I have been entrusted to find some party who would be interested in buying them, but really have not idea where to start looking. He would sell them to a mill, but would prefer to sell them to small business owners or individuals. If anyone has addresses or phone numbers of parties who would be interested, please respond or contact me at deveri1@msn.com.
    thank you

I am not sure where your grandfather is in Illinois, but I know a mill in New Windsor that buys trees. New Windsor is a very small town, south of the Quad Cities, on the Illinois side. The name of the mill is Ericson Log and Lumber, but I don't have their phone number with me.

Bob is the guy I deal with there, but he is not the owner. The owner is the man who bids and buys trees.

I'd rather see the wood be used by someone than rot in the town landfill.

Contact the state DNR, they will have lists of reputable loggers in the state.
