    wax over arm-r-seal?

any advantage to this? im hoping it will soften the finish up, and make it easier to maintain.
    thanks!

In fact, waxing a finish creates maintenance problem. Once you have applied wax, you will need to fairly frequently rewax to maintain its appearence. Wax adds not additional protection.

Arm R Seal is a thinned wiping urethane varnish and needs no waxing.

    Hello,
    Waxing only serves two purposes:

A.) Way back when - it gave the apprentices in the shop something to keep their idle hands occupied. "Busy work" has been around a long, long time..

B.) If you stand out in the driveway and run your hands over your creation for hours on end just to admire your handiwork, people will think you're some kind of nut.
OTOH, if you caress it with wax, people will think you a gifted old world craftsman.

    (& I'm only half kidding & a "waxer" myself!)
