    Dust Collection Installation Question

Got a new Oneida Super Dust Gorilla last week. Managed to assemble it by myself, even the 'clean & jerk' of the motor/fan assembly. Stand, not wall mount.

Now it's time to assemble some snap-lock ducting. My question is on the first piece at the DC's inlet. Do I drill and screw that too? I understand the concept of drilling/screwing the pipe onto a blastgate and pipe-to-pipe. Just was a little concerned about putting holes into my new DC.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Dave, not sure what I was "supposed" to do either, but I did end up screwing the first piece off the collecter. I just followed that up with some foil tape just like all the other seams.

At stress points, I drill with a 1/8" drill and use pop-rivets. I don't like using screws that project into the air stream as the points may tend to catch stringy material. For the rest of the joints...they just get heavy foil tape.
