    Calling All Creekers

    All words escape me.

I'd like to make a request of all creekers.
I'd like to request that everyone who can, sign on to the website and then follow the above link at 6 pm Eastern time Saturday, Sept 11, for a time of silence in honor of all those who are still overseas, doing the job that others are afraid to do. Also to honor all those who have given their lives since that fatefull day.

    Thumbs up Thanks for sharing!

Boyd.....I served 8 years in the Navy...my oldest son served 9 years in the Army...my youngest son after 5 years of service just got off active duty a year ago in August....he received a letter last week asking if he'd consider voluntarily going back on active duty and if not, did he have anything that would prevent him from going on active duty after the first of the year ( Nothing but a wife and he interviews for re-entry into dental school Sept. 27th). He's an officer in the inactive Naval reserves. With my youngest son, my wife ( I refer to her as "Aunt Samantha, the female version of Uncle Sam) rode an aircraft carrier, the USS Carl Vinson, back from Pearl Harbor to San Diego and on to Bremerton, Wa. as it was returning from "thumping" the Taliban. My wife and I were in tears viewing this. We've passed it on. Thanks for sharing!

Boyd - Thanks for sharing this. I am still on dial-up here at home and it was certainly worth the wait to experience. I guess those of us like myself who have never had the honor of serving will never fully understand the sacrifices that are being made daily to protect our way of life.

    Boyd,

All I can say is, WOW! Unfortunately back in the late '70's exzema was a reason they wouldn't take you. Took the test for the Air Force and almost made it in till they saw the blisters on my hands. Scored high enough (98%) to be given the book to figure out what I wanted to do. Still wish they would have taken me sometimes. Thanks for sharing this!

…. Thanks to all of us who stand tall in such a shared honor as this is. My regret is that more do not feel the same. For a nation that has grown great, everything can and does become too easy, but we must all realize freedom has its price. Pay now or pay later… the price will be paid. For some Americans, without a backbone, flip-flopping is easier in hopes of being on the winning side.<O</O

…. May God continue to shed his mercy and love on our great county in spite of itself, for we certainly don’t deserve it.
