    Woodworking at The Puyallup Fair

I went to the Puyallup Fair last weekend and was very impressed by the quality of woodworking. While I don't want to spoil any surprises, there were a number of high quality pieces of furniture, intricate woodcarving, and lots of neat things. It was fun to look around.

If you go, be sure to look for the grand champion woodworking item. It's a woodturned bowl with intricate inlay. It's not mine, but sure is a beautiful piece and something I'd like to do some year.

I had two items in the fair. Both did well but I knew going in that neither were grand champion material. I am busily searching through my Woodsmiths trying to find some projects that are more intricate and complicated and may have a chance at the prize next year.

I'll be going in two weekends. Thanks for the heads up!
