    ZCI question

I am making various ZCIs for my table saw and I have run into a problem. I can't find any leveling screws. I checked the Borgs, and I called McFeelys, and neither place had any. I was pretty surprised that McFeelys said they didn't have any.

So where do you guys find leveling screws? Or, alternatively, what do you use to level your ZCI? Thanks

I use 1/4" x 20 x 3/8" long allen set screws from the BORG (they hide them in those drawers of 'specialty fasteners'). I make my inserts from 1/2" bb ply and drill a slightly undersized holes and just thread them in.

Try to find a decent True Value hardware store or equivalent in your area. Some of them have pretty extensive hardware sections with a good selection of fasteners. Buy a box of 100 10-32x1/2" socket set screws. Then go crazy making ZCIs. The last box I purchased was less than $9.

The local True Value is where I found them too.

Good idea on the set screws. I've been wondering what to use, too. Thanks fellas.

    Set screws

I use the oval point set screws from SmallParts.com (also at Amazon)

If Small Parts don't have what you want they don't make it.....

I have got the ones I need for the Jet table saw and also got some set screws the the Jet band saw, great place to get all those little parts.

I just make mine fit in the first place so I don't need to level them. I used to use "8 flat head screws when I used 1/2" BB for the unisaw.

I use 1/2" MDF or 1/2" Baltic Birch, whichever I have handy. I have a Delta Contractors Saw and when I add 1 layer of Formica on the ZCI, it is just the right height and needs no further adjustment.
