I need to paint my basement walls and the boys have crayon marks on them. How do I remove them so paint will stick?
Thanks,
Joe

Joe-I've had luck removing crayon marks with WD-40. Use TSP to make sure you get all the lubricant off. HTH,

Joe,
There's a product called Goof OFF I think Wal Mart sells it that has worked to remove crayon off of painted walls. That and a scotchbrite pad.

Laquer thinner and a wire/nylon bristle brush?
If it is on there to stay, cover it with a good stain blocking primer - Kilz or the like.

I have also used Shout brand stain removing sponges to remove marks that I thought were PERMANENT, don't know how well they would work on block wall, but might be worth a shot.

They make a product that is for removing decals from cars ---it is a orange -citrus based product that will cut it right off. I ordered mine but you might find it at a automotive paint supply house. If you leave it on to long it will also remove the paint.
The neat part is when you are done the room smells great.

Joe,
Try the Mr. Clean Eraser. It took everything off that we had on the walls without any problem.

Scrub it with anything then cover it with BIN white pigmente shelac.
Thanks! SWMBO bought the Mr. Clean stuff and it worked.
