Aromatic Cedar How long does it last

Another question on the armoir for LOML.
I got some of the aromatic cedar boards that they make for lining closets, the stuff isn't more than 3/16" thick. Kind of wondering how long the scent will last or if it's related to the thickness should I look for something thicker?

    Thanks,

    Dean

    Forever.

Did some roof work once on a church built in 1752 with cedar shingles....we could still smell the cedar 200+ years later.
“Perhaps then, you will say, ‘But where can one have a boat like that built today?’ And I will tell you that there are still some honest men who can sharpen a saw, plane, or adze...men (who) live and work in out of the way places, but that is lucky, for they can acquire materials for one third of city prices. Best, some of these gentlemen’s boatshops are in places where nothing but the occasional honk of a wild goose will distract them from their work.” -- L Francis Herreshoff

Smell deminishes after a while.....few years maybe....but sand in spot with some 320 or 400 grit sandpaper and it all comes back. Just don't sand much. So, once every several years and it will out last you.
    Thanks & Happy Wood Chips,

    Thanks Guys,
You've put my mind at ease. I'll go ahead and use what I've got.
