    Christmas Gifts-Cont'd

Here is the latest in a series of Christmas gifts for my adult children. This one is for my youngest son who is the General Mgr. and Executive Chef at The Lodge of Troy in Alabama. It is a recipe box of walnut and maple with a padauk handle accent. I wanted the lid to stop a little beyond 90 degrees to hold the recipe currently being used. ( My wifes idea ) Rather than spend 30 plus bucks on a pair of Brusso stop hinges, I replaced one of the hinge screws with a small brass knob. Works like a charm-less than 3 bucks.

    thought before reading text:
"wow, that's a pretty darn nice recipe box"

    thought after reading text:
An Executive Chef deserves such a fine box.

very nice. What jig do you use for doing your inlayed finger joints?

Appropriate gift.. excellent execution and finish results. In other words.. I like it and it's pur-ty. You did an a great job on design and build on this one. About the only thing you left off was a piece of granite from Stone Mountain Park.

Tell your son to cook up something spicy for those Troy State football boys to get them fired up.

    Well done.. neighbor!

    Brad,
Those double double box joints were cut using an Incra LS Positioner.

    Sarge,
Actually my son is in negotiations with Troy University to provide after game meals for the football team.

Thank you both for the kind words. Jim
