My first attempt at neandering - a 5th Anniversary Box

My wife wanted a box to store post cards in, and since our 5th anniversary is coming up next week, I decided that this would be a good gift. While I was at it, I decided to take a crack at going almost completely neander on it. I have to admit that I gave in and thickness planed the parts in my planer, but everything else was by hand.

The body and base are sapele, and the top is angel step maple. I wanted to use the natural edge, so I decided to go with a more rustic looking joint on the box - thus the lap joints and the decision to go all handwork.

    Thanks guys!

Aaron, the finish is beeswax over blonde shellac. It's a little hard to see in the pics, but it really gave a nice soft shine to the sapele and just slightly brought up the figure in the maple. Not super durable, but it shouldn't see much abuse.
