    Smile miller falls 57

    is a miller falls no.57 equal to a stanley no.65.any info appreciated.

    Jim,

    If I recall correctly, I believe you are right from the looks of the planes. The Miller Falls 57 is as I recall an adjustable mouth low angle block plane. Miller Falls also made very good tools.

    MF 47 or 57

    We generally think of the Stanly 65 as having the knuckle lever cap. Actually there were models of the 65 that did not have the knuckle cap. But, I think the 47 is roughly equivalent to the 65 with knuckle cap, and the 57 is roughly equivalent to the 65 without the knuckle cap. Clear as mud? Look at the pictures on the site mentioned in a previous post.
