Dust collection (again)

I am installing my dust collector and wonder if there is a consensus out there (ya right - a consensus??) re the pipe configurations. I have a two hp jet collector and will need about 30 feet of primary duct with six or eight branches. I am considering six inch for the main duct but is there enough velocity to maintain chip movement? If I switch to four inch, is there too much pressure drop along this length thereby restricting air flow too much. Where should the compromise settle out. Seems as most use the six inch.

My 1.5hp jet with Wynn canister does more than fine with 6" duct. I think you'd be alright sticking with 6" as long as possible (right up to the tool, if you can)
