    Grain Filling Waterlox Finish

I have a Waterlox high gloss finish I am working on that is over a quilted maple veneer. The veneer has some minor tearout (pits) that were barely noticeable before the finish went, but is now more evident.

Short of applying a bunch of coats and sanding back, does anyone have any suggestions to fill these tiny pits?

    Thanks!

Sanding back to flat and appling more Waterlox. If they are very small another coat or 2 will fill them.

    HINT:

Leave the "filled" surface level so gravity can help fill the depressions.

Finishing is an 'Art & a Science'. Actually, it is a process. You must understand the properties and tendencies of the finish you are using. You must know the proper steps and techniques, then you must execute them properly.

Sounds a little faster. Thanks for the advice!
