    Cutting Board XMAS Present

Finally finished the larger cutting board I made for my step-daughter. Maple, end-grain up, about 2" thick and 12" square. She wanted an 'elevated' cutting board; I said, 'a what?' - this is what she meant, apparently. Small rubber feet underneath; finished with Salad Bowl Finish.

Mike, that is some interesting end grain! Looks almost like branch cutoffs. Makes for a neat looking cutting board.

Nice job Mike. I usually put the rubber bumpers on about anything I build that see's a kitchen counter. Keeps the wood out of splashed water and keeps it from sliding when in use on a slick top. She should enjoy.

Here's another, this one for our kitchen. Posted in the Turner's forum, as I turned it round on my lathe .
