    powermatic 66 shaper

I'm curious what the value might be of this unit. Considering buying it from my work.
    details.
    lesson motor 230v single phase
very good condition but has been sitting in shop for the last 15 years (not used).
    Guessing a mid 1980's unit.
    any thoughts?
    thanks, Mark.

First thought is that parts might be hard to come by, but if you are getting it at a good price, it is lightly used and in working order that wouldn't matter. You should be able to use it for years and years to come.

FYI PM66 is a table saw not a shaper. Shaper is PM 26

Check the serial number tag for accurate age of the machine first two digits are usually the manufacture year. Parts should not be a problem form sources like powermatic or www.owwm.com and www.owwm.org.

As to prices search ebay and craigslist, call couple of the local tool dealers to see what they would pay for such a used machine.

The 26 and 27 are the same internally, with minor difference in the belt and sheaves. Spindle cartridge is the same. If the price is right, these are decent little shapers. I used to have both models.
