Gloat revisited- downdrafter review
Last weekend I posted a pic of the new downdrafter hood that followed me home from Woodcraft & I was asked by several folks how well it worked. My response was that I had not installed it yet but that as soon as I had I'd post the results.
So...here are the results.....it works great!
The installation was as straight forward as any of the instructions from Rousseau; however I think I could have mounted the rail just below the table height (as opposed to level, as suggested), which would have placed the lower lip of the shroud resting on the table.
I tried it first with the Dewalt vac with a 2" hose and while it did work well, it was nowhere near as good as it is hooked up to the 4" hose & the DC. As long as the blast gate is open (ahem..), everything goes in the hood and nothing blows back in my face, this baby sucks, and I mean that in a good way!
I cut a picture frame just to ensure it worked as well thru full travel & it did. (note pic posted to appease the photocops).
