    Angry planer woes

John's venerable delta 12" lunchbox planer is giving us fits. it is cutting uneven, one side higher than the other. Not a big deal, we can get that in line we think, but when we get things lined up so the cut is even, the feed rollers are higher on one side than the other, which leads to chattering. Argh! I left John over at the shop trying to get it back in normal action. Anyone ever faced this issue and if so, short of replacing the planer, what did you do to fix it?

    Hmmm

No lunchbox planers here, just a 800 pound 20 incher.
Did this just kind of OCCUR? or was it progressive, more and more off?

    I'm guessing here

You might want to check the springs. Maybe a broken one. When mine was new I had to shim one. Perhaps chips are keeping one from coming down.

    Usual disclaimer inserted here.
