    Maple Doors In Progress Pics

Hey guys, I'm in the process of closing in one side of a kitchen island with a frame and doors so that my lovely wife can have a place to store her cookbooks.

The kitchen is all maple cabinetry stained a "Shaker" color.

Last weekend I made a trip to Siefker Lumber in Delphos Ohio, and picked up 50 bd ft of Soft Maple for $2/ft. The wood is kiln dried, has wonderful figure, and 3 of the boards were over 10" wide so I was actually able to cut the panels from single wide boards. Look ma, no gluing up panels!

Here's the progress after all the doors are cut and routed. Things are still a rough, cause I haven't started sanding yet, but everything is fitting together nicely. Long way to go before they're in the kitchen, but thought I'd share anyway!

    Thanks for looking!

Good going, Mathew! Now, for the $67,000 dollar question: We recently had a thread on the spacers used for paneled doors. What did YOU use for that?

They are looking great, Mat! Nice job.

Now...enquiring minds want to know...what color is "Shaker" color?? (I love the art marketing sometimes!!)
