    Jet Mini Lathe Banjo Help!

    Hi!

I am setting up my mini lathe and have a problem. The banjo only moves
about 4 inches along the bed from the head stock. If I try to slide it along further down the bed toward the tail stock the bolt underneath bumps into the motor housing.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks,

    James

Have you recently changed the belt position and not returned the motor to the lower (tightened) position? Just a thought.

Haven't changed anything. Just took it out of the box.

That's it! Just fixed it. They must ship it with the motor in the upper position.
Just had to push down on the lever to lower it. Which tightens the belt also, I assume.

    Thanks for the help.

You got it. Thats how you change the speeds by loosening the motor and moving the belts on the pulleys.
