    My old bench

We see lots of pix of newly built work benches and they all look great. We don't get to see many in use, especially kind of old ones. I was taking pix of a project I am working on and I thought the work area kind of looked used and friendly so I am sending it along. Some might call it unkempt but everything I need is within reach, even the remote for music. I built this bench lots of years ago. It shows wear but will last a few lifetimes. The "middle" leg was an add on. I mount an adjustable height fitting that holds my carving vise. The piece I am working on is part of a table apron with a simple eternity carving and pistil.

I really enjoy seeing photos like this! It's nice to see a bench in real circumstances being used for its intended purpose.

    Thanks for sharing.

That's definitely somewhere a man could sit and work. I'd have to cover the window. Out here where we chew our air, a view like that can cause wool-gathering episodes of substantial duration ;-)
