    Thanks all.

Gary, I got the lumber from PJ white. It was premium grade and the pallet the guy opened up for me had all very nice boards (8-14" wide, some with outstanding grain pattern).

    Here are some progress pics.
First is, trying to join a 12"+ wide board using my planer:

Here I made the grooves for the inlays:

The 45 degree corners (using 4 separate pieces) to attach the columns,
    also the top is inlayed:

The base and the feet, and then the box glued up:

The simple box-joint jig to use with the incra jig. There is a screw
on the Incra that allows to do micro-adjustment on the jig to get
    perfect fit:

Here are all the drawer box sides with a sample fit:

Beautiful piece. I love the design and execution on this one. That is some superb cherry as well.

Wow, that is absolutely gorgeous. I love everything about it.
Also, I enjoyed seeing the progress photos. Your idea for the box joint jig will come in handy.

Wonderful piece. I tend to avoid cherry (I'm a poor finisher) but your dresser could certainly make me reconsider. Nice attention to detail and an instant heirloom.

    looks great!

how thick have you sawn your drawer front veneer and what did you use for the core.

They are about 1/8" thick and are glued to 5/8" BB ply.

Stunning Work! I love the quarter columns and the inlays. Any reason why box joints over dovetails for the drawers?

Yep, I had to rush it to get it done in time (did all 20 drawer corners in one evening); I thought about dovetails but the baby could come at any time
BTW, the columns are actually one half of a single post (at 45 degree).
