Yesterday I got one step closer to getting organized in the garage. I sold my 12" radial arm saw. The footprint was taking up too much room and frankly the thing really scared me to use it. While I would love to have a larger shop; that ain't gonna happen so I am going to go back to what I once had. Minimal clutter.
I think I can live with a 10" contractor saw, a 12" planer, drill press, wood lathe, router table, belt/disk sander, and a 6" joiner. I just have to have things on casters so I can move the tool to the center of the garage and move it back. I have always had room to park a car in there too when things are put away.
It is still all to easy not to pass up a good deal but when space is minimal it isn't such a good deal after all. All I need is the discipline to say no.
