Thread: Question about z axis height

    Matt,

    I would figure at least a 6" z-rise. I am including a file of a guitar neck holding jig (total depth is 1.125" for jig) and a render of a ukelele neck for reference. By the way my neck heel is only 1.75" for a Martin style.( We don't build ukelele right now but we have several drawn already and I don't think any are over 2.75 at the actual neck... not neck and fret board, tall). We actually run a 5" long 1/2" ball nose bit to cut the guitar necks. Some of the guitars have a 4.75" tall heel. You can lay these over on side and cut with a little less length (3.75" cutting length) but you now have to rotate 180 and cut again if you do it this way.
