Bill, This is really the first one I ever used so I haven't really used others to compare but I will keep this in mind. I bought it on sell for $5.

Jim, thanks for the response. It was suggested earlier so I may look into one. It acts as a featherboard also right?

yup - pretty much... I "built" my boobjig/thinstrip jig for free from scrap... and a knob and hardware I have packratted...

My wife commented that my jig had cancer!

oh - I just thought of another idea... why don't you use a long board, cut on long strip, and then cut that into the correct lengths?? You will waste less wood that way.

Here is a thread talking about cutting thin strips, about half way down the first page is the Rockler one and I talk about how it is used.

There is some good reading in the thread.

Dennis, that would certainly work with longer wood. Unfortunantely this project the wood was just big enough. I made it work but just trying to get better.

    Bill, thanks for the link.

Getting some good ideas. Thanks !!!

Is your fence flexing? I had that trouble with an old Craftsman if I put too much pressure on the fingerboards

Dell if I had to say right off hand I would so no. I didn't even use a featherboard as wasn't over applying pressure to the fence. It is a T square fence so I think I would have to apply alot of pressure to flex it. But I will certainly check it out because you never know. Thanks for the idea. Looks like I'll be busy tomorrow trying all these ideas. Thanks Guys!!!

Center of the review talks about using the grrripper to cut thin strips.

I guess it could be used as a feather board but not really. FBs are cheap so I wouldn't try it.

jim, I wouldn"t use it as a featherboard. I simply meant while cutting the thin strips it helps hold th wood against the fence. Sorry if I wasn't clear.
