My First Rattle and a Going back to college bowl

Not actually "my first" rattle. Growing up the youngest of six kids in the sixties, my first rattle was probably a beer can painted with lead paint and filled with pebbles (only kidding mom and dad!). Rattle was inspired by a recent post by Roland. Made out of tiger maple, mahogany, filled with pinto beans and finished with mineral oil and beeswax. Roughly 7.5 inches long and meets the requirements for being at least 1-3/4 inches wide. Not sure about the overall size. May have to be used by Bam-bam.

Bowl is birch finished with Waterlox and then beesway. Measures 8 x 1.5". My second daughter goes back to Connecticut College today (home of the Conneticut Camels). I figured she could put this on her desk and use it for loose objects.

    Thanks for looking.

I'm a little old for rattles, although my wife may disagree...I really like the bowl, simple, functional shape.
