    Black Palm HF

We returned home a week ago Sunday afternoon after a week in Colorado visiting my Daughter, SIL and five Grandsons. Had a great time but couldn't wait to get in the shop. I got this Black Palm blank at Woodcraft in Colorado Springs. It measures 3-3/4" dia. x 4-1/2" tall with ebony finial, inset and bun foot. I asked my daughter to go back and get any of these blanks they had left. She got the last two. As always thanks for looking and comments/critiques are welcome.

Keith, I just saw this one on WOW, and it is very nice!! I was surprised at the dimensions - some great detail, and awesome wood. And, as always, great finial!

Absolutely stunning! Palm is such a striking wood especially the end grain portions. Fantastic form and finial. This goes in the keeper file!

I'm also surprised at the dimensions, seems to look quite a bit larger than it really is. Fantastic form throughout and the wood is very interesting, can't wait to see what you do with the other two!

Boy, that is a nice piece. The palm and ebony really work well together. Love the top treatment and finial and the curve is spot on.

Massively beautiful Keith. And/but knowing that I'm scarcely qualified to comment on a Keith Burns finial, still cannot help feeling that the bulb is just a wee bit too bulky.

The form looks great, and I love that black palm.

I like how it is round. It has much roundness. I made a round thing once. Not as nice as this round thing. But still...
