Anyone have the Wecheer carving kit that Woodcraft has on sale? The one review is not favorable. Modestly priced, but is it any good?

Richard,
i have not tried any of the power carvers
i do own a lancelot chain for angle grinder and microplane blade files in different cuts, which also sold by woodcraft
i have just bought the lancelot and mainly use to round out blanks but after reading about Mark Lindquist work, i may be inspired to try some type of large piece for the Piedmont Arts Expression yearly show. they have a 55" size limit, so who knows what i will come up with. i have tried a couple of smaller pieces with multiple axis and may add some carving to that type of turning/sculpure
I have the WeCheer carver. I got it about a year ago on a 15% off day. It seems to work fine for me, but I don't do a lot of heavy carving. The one time I did do some heavy carving, the handpiece got pretty warm. I don't know if that is normal or not, but it wasn't that big of a deal. Overall, it works great for me.
