I have heard the same as Chris. That is why you use black pipe for gas as well.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm sticking with steel so the moisture will have a chance to condensate. I use air for powering tools, as well as spray finishing, so IMO this is the best way to go. My current shop is set up with the rapidair system. Great system but moisture is tougher to remove when 100% of the lines are nylon. I will still utilize the Rapidair lines and maniflods for the drops which will come down from iron tees that will face up from the main lines. I didn't realize that the galvy might flake off of the inside of the pipes, so now I know why to go with black.
