    Box for a buddy

I tried seomthing different with this one.

A lid that protruded out from the front to use as a "Pull"

and no hinges, a sliding top.

No metal used at all !

Miters didn't come out so well, so I put an inlay in to cover my mistake !

    Watco, spray on poly, wax

Great looking box Mark and I really like the way the top opens.

    Mark -

    Really nice box!

See, now, if you wouldn't have said anything about the inlay on the corners, we would have thought it was a design feature. You can tell a good craftsman by how well he covers his mistakes.

    Mark,

Fantastic looking box, neat design also.

I really like the figure on the top - What did you use to "POP" it so nicely!

    What's the finish, dimensions, etc.?

The finish is my lazy way, sand to 400, Watco, spray on Poly, and then wax.

    Size is about 7 x 15

    thanks for the kind words

A great looking box. I love the inlays, design and fix . Really pretty.

As far as the fix is concerned, "you don't need to tell everything you know" as my grandfather used to say.

    Hi Mark,

That is an awesome fix! If you hadn't mentioned it I would have never known. That one definately goes in the file for future use!

That is a beautiful box. I really like the lid design and the wood selection.

I am liking this VERY much, Mark. The extended tab is a great idea, too.
