    Olympic Antique oil finish

    Does anyone still sell Olympic Antique Oil Finish?

    What are you using it for? There are substitutes even ones you can mix up yourself.

    I just use it for a light topcoat on top of stained wood for children's furniture. I don't like a heavy poly or varnish coat. I really liked this product. I see that Minwax has a product also that I guess I will try.

    Both the Minwax Antique Oil and the Olympic Antique Oil are almost identical. Both are what are generically called "oil/varnish" mixtures. Other marketing names are "Tung Oil Finish" and "Danish Oil".

    You can easily make your own by mixing equal parts of your favorite varnish or poly varnish, boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits. It's cheaper is a more protective finish. Apply it just as you would your "Antique Oil".
