    Mini Gloat.

A little while back I did an upgrade to my shop.
Low and behold a Canadian Woodworking magazine published a couple of pics of my Neaderthal Haven.
Close to 8 months in the making and a whole lot of hand cut half blind drawers...

This by far has been my most ambitious project and still gives me a warm fuzzy every time I go into my shop...

Can't beat a feeling like that....

    Thumbs up very cherry...

    My Pal Gary,
    Congratulations on your National Exposure,
and recognition for an ambitious project tackled
    and skillfully completed.
Now all of Canada can see your amazing cherry shop cabinets.
Superior and superb handcut dovies as far as the eye can see!

You should be proud, you've definitely earned it!
    Good show,
    Walt

Thanks Walt. Good to see you posting again....
This winter I would like to upgrade my chop saw station to look like the neander haven. Haven't done any dovetails lately so I need something to practice on....

That's more than a mini gloat, congrats!
It should've been on the cover IMHO.

That's great. What a cool thing to have happen to a fellow Creeker. Congrats.

Gary, the whole time this project was unfolding, I knew it was destined for greatness. Not only did you do a superior job on the dovetails and the construction generally, but the design is wonderfully done - it looks like it was done by a professional designer.

Canadian Woodworking has good taste and knows a winner when they see it! Says a lot for the publication as well as you!

No offense Gary, but your shop should be in a national magazine. That is an outstanding shop, congrats on the recognition as it is well deserved.

Jeff, it is - just a different nation!!

BTW, although I have never read an issue, I understand that Canadian Woodworking is a superb publication. Wish it were available here on the newstands.

I'm not at all surprised that this was featured. What I don't understand is how between the day job, and eating and sleeping you managed to get this done in 8 months. Kudos for the recognition. Nice to know many of us saw it here first.

Maybe if I did that many dovetails I'd get good at it too. Youv'e given me something to shoot for. Great work!

Congratulations Gary. That's a beautiful shop.

I saw that and thought, "Well, yeah--if you're retired and have all the time in the world of *course* you can do that!" Then I continued reading...

So, I'm going to have to bestow the traditional gloat reply here. You suck.

I've always admired that project and its cool that the mag decided to honor you! Way to go!!
