    Adirondack chair

Our local woodturning club has the opportunity to get some aromatic cedar logs in exchange for sawing some of them up into boards for 2 adirondack chairs. Does anyone have a materials list or know how many board feet are needed for a chair? Any help would be appreciated.

I make mine out of ERC and plan on about 30 bf for each chair. The slats use up a lot more wood than one would think.

I don't have a materials list but here's a couple I made. I keep tweaking the design every time I build one.

If you do a search for "Jake's Chair" you'll hopefully find plans for a great adirondack chair. I have scaled mine down from those plans a bit however as I found the chair to be a bit too big (and I'm 230). Bf depends on waste too, but you probably wouldn't have much, if any. Probably 25-30 bf per chair sounds about right.
