    finally getting around to some countertops..

    built a couple vanities awhile back but haven't gotten around to the countertops in the past few months. did get around to putting the largest one together this past week.

    and given the need for a large countertop, as an added bonus that justified my nagging desire to buy a set of plano panel clamps for this very purpose .

    that and i'm tired of using my table saw to clamp things on, and a wall mounted clamp setup is nice to have for doors/windows too.

    so now i only use my table saw to finish things on, its workload has been halved, i'm sure it'll thank me later.

    peruvian walnut (since i can't get good domestic walnut due to the thousand cankers scare, thanks for whoever sent that back east, appreciate it), garnet shellac + waterlox satin on top. not buffed yet, just put the last coat on a few hours ago...

    That countertop looks great! I like the idea of a wooden countertop, just wondering how it would hold up under use.
