Thread: Sublimation coatings

    Sublimation coatings

Has anyone tried coating products themselves with any success?

Don't know if this is feasible, but the idea it to laser an image
into wood, than transfer the same image in color onto the lasered piece.

This was posted in the engraving forum, not having a flatbed printer
I wondered about the posibilities of doing this through methods I have
    available.

    Any thoughts?

Marty, I keep up with some sublimation forums and I have seen this mentioned a lot and I have not seen anyone report back with any success yet. You get a couple hit and miss stories, but I have yet to find anyone say "I use XYZ and it's incredible".

I've seen a handful of items mentioned, but no real production level success. I think people get away with one or two items, but nothing in mass.

    Thats what I figured!

I tend to push the limits on some of the projects here a bit

    Thanks

There's an outfit in Calif. called Coastal Graphics--I think--that sells such an item. They have a good reputation so you may want to talk with them.

Been there, done that, it sucked... They were very pleasant in dealing with the return and refund, so nothing against CG.
