never thought of it. I would say its probably ok. I just read an article in one of my magazines this month regarding food safe finishes.
I use mineral oil on my cutting boards at wally-world its like 1.99 / quart ...real hard to beat that.

Finishes today are food safe if cured for 72 hrs. I use Mahoney's walnut oil. I really like the finish it produces. I don't care for mineral oil as it never dries as does other veggie oils.
