    lumber storage location

    Hello,
I have a few pieces of lumber (QS mahogany, spalted maple) that I've been storing in my house, mainly because I need to make room in my garage for it. Does it effect the wood one way or the other to store it in the house? I always assumed it was a little better to store it in my house rather than my garage which is insulted but still gets cold in the winter and hot and humid during the summer. I do make sure to acclimate any lumber before I use it, but these are 8/4 pieces that still need to dry, so they won't be used for a while. The reason I ask is that I seem to recall reading something that said it was not advisable to store unfinished lumber inside a house. Thanks.

Inside your house is fine, although I wouldn't put it right next to your furnace/boiler. If it's already dry, you don't need to sticker it. Either stack it flat or, some folks like to stand their lumber up (my preference is flat).
