Need help with dust port on sander

i have a Jet JSG-96 combo sander and it has a 4" dust port on the side and i want to
hook up a shop vac to it. the port size is just under 4" and i would like to find a reducer to fit. i have a 4" x 2-1/2" reducer from another machine but it does not work.
the O.D. on both are the same size so the reducer will not slip in or over the port on the saw, it would need a piece of 4" hose to connect both.

does anyone have this saw and have it hooked up to a vac instead of a DC? can you post pics of your setup? thanks

Go to Home Depot, or the like. In the plumbing section you will find rubber connectors to join two pipes together. They are the ones that have radiator clamps on both sides. I think this will join your two pieces. Take one with you to try.

As Rick Potter said.. They are called MJ connectors in Canada. Big flexible rubber tube with a gear clamp on each end.

Aren't those also known as "fernco" couplers?

Kevin, after you get that hooked up, would you let us know how it worked out?
