What would be the longest lasting clear finish I can put on my new treated pine fence?

Don't know exactly what parameters you would take into account when defining "best" ... but Penofin is a good choice.

You can use an oil based paint with not colorant added. Go to the paint store and ask for the base they use to make the dark colors. it will dry clear and it have UV inhibitors fungicides, algaecides in it to help it hold up well in the weather. You want the Deep dase or dark base they dry clear.

Finishing is an 'Art & a Science'. Actually, it is a process. You must understand the properties and tendencies of the finish you are using. You must know the proper steps and techniques, then you must execute them properly.
