We have decided on this design for the entry sign to our shop. There will be stain add to highlight text.
I would like some feedback on the design.
Thanks for taking the time to look and comment.

Really nice layout, but for people to read your sign from afar and be drawn in, you need contrast. Stain will help a lot but unless it's right at the door and only seen from withing a few feet I'd paint the letters. With the background neutral you need to go really dark or really light, maybe forest green, burgundy, or off white. It would look amazing with gold leaf letters.

Joe is right the basic layout is nice. I think too, that a darker background
with gold leafing would really make it stand out! The gold leaf will also give
it some reflective qualities.
Look at other signs in the vicinity and make sure your's is the best, after
all you are promoting woodworking and routing.
Who knows once you get your sign up it may make some others around
look you look a bit dated and you might just get some work on the basis
of your sign just on your block.

Gene,
I like the design, it is clean with sharp details.
I'm not sure how you intend to stain the sign to provide contrast, can you show us a picture of what you are planning? I think you are going to have to use some paint or inlays to get the necessary contrast but I don't have any experience with colored stain.
.
Here is the initial color scheme. I plan on using something with a lot of grain, so thats why I was leaning towards stain for the backgroung and painting or acrylic color stains for the lettering.
Thank you for the comments.

Gene,
Lots of people use the phrase "Fine Custom Woodworks".
In your case it is certainly true.
Can't wait to see the finished sign.

Hi Gene,
The design looks good. Is the sign finished?
