    Help....Looking for cradle plans.

So, my oldest daughter is pregnant with twins. I have committed to building a cradle for one of them. The other will use a crib as they are really short on space.

Can anyone rec a plan or point me where to find a nice plan? I have looked at a number of on-line plans, but haven't found one that I fell in love with yet.

I got a set of plans that came with spindles from Woodcraft. If you need the plan number, let me know.

Mark, if something like this is what you are looking for let me know and I will dig out where I got the plan for it.

  5. Mark, Try cherrytreetoys.com/Baby_Cradle_Plan. I built this cradle using their plans but made some modifications and was pleased with result. The cradle looks intimidating at first but really pretty easy. Checkout http://www.binkyswoodworking.com/JillsCradle.php for some step-by-step advice to accomplish the build.

    Gary,

I found one that is similar on FurniturePlans.com. Does that ring a bell?

I would like it to come apart for storage. Does your's do that?

Thanks to all for your help and suggestions.

I believe that's where the plan came from Mark.
And yes it does come apart some what. The base is held together with lag screws that are capped. Three pieces to store waiting for the next little one to come along.
The craddle is one piece. I suppose one could make it so it came apart also, but this one does not.
One modification I did do was making solid wood flat panels on the ends.
The plan I believe called for plywood.
    Good luck with your build.

Mark, I went with the Woodsmith plans for my granddaughters cradle. It was my first time working from someone else's plans and overall I was happy with them. Here are some pics:

That is a wonderful cradle Bruce. I will send links to my daughter and see which she likes the most.

This was a fun project for our ggd. The plan came with a stand that I did not make.

Thanks Mark. It was a fun project but got a little harried at the end when I was trying to apply the finish in a 80* garage.

Dustin. I did some checking and the plan did come from furnitureplans.com
Here is the link http://www.furnitureplans.com/pi_products/1401 (no affiliation to the company)
I've built two of these, one in walnut and one in curly/birds eye maple.
