    Rabbit HX-6090SE two year review.

Sorry for the senior moment title should read 0ne year not two
    Rabbit HX-6090SE one year review.
It is hard to believe that I have had my second rabbit for 1 whole year already.

    No major problems.

    Minor problems.
    1. Mirrors are difficult to adjust. (most lasers have this problem)
    2. Software is rudimentary. (This is a huge understatement)
    3. One cabinet latch is broken.
    4. Very little instructional support material on the software

    Problems upon delivery.
One of the two water flow sensors was defective. The company never sent a replacement as they said they would. The machine works fine with only one sensor.

The glass laser tube still cutting strong after two years.
I have worked the machine hard at times; however it has been idle for the past 2 months, as I am taking college courses that consume most of my time.

This machine has a very large and deep bed that comes in handy.

Here is the web address for the specs on the machine that I have.
http: //www.hxlaser.com/ ( I added a space after http:, just take it out if you copy and paste the link.)

I do not what more to say; the machine works as expected. I am happy with my purchase, The machine fits my needs and was within my budget.

Thanks for the update James. I just purchased the Rabbit 1290 and it's set to ship around the 15th. Excited and eager to put it to work.

    Hello James,

I am considering buying a Rabbit. It would be my first machine. You said that "Software is rudimentary. (This is a huge understatement)" - if I run coreldraw on this, would I still have a problem with the software? (not sure if I have to interface with the software the laser comes with or if I can use my own).

Also, any advice you can give to a rookie laser buyer, would be great.

    Thanks, Tim

Tim.. Depending on what version of software you get with the rabbit you may be able to run straight from Corel. I have probably the oldest software LaserCut5.0 and I have to create my element in Corel, export to AI vs 8 and import into LaserCut. The actual software you get with the machine is basic like windows paint but I do everything in Corel with no problem.
