Wall finishing, Sheetrock or wood paneling

Brad, Larry's post made me think of one other suggestion. You might want to put blocking up for hanging wall cabinets, etc. Run 2"x6" at 7' or so between studs. That way when you go to hang cabinets or french cleats you have a bit more flexibility.

Check your building code. The building inspector told me that any attached garage/shop must have sheet rock walls. As my shop is detached I am okay using some low cost plywood paneling.

Don is correct. Check your building code before deciding. Even though my shop/garage is detached code still required drywall.
