    Creeker sighting!

I had the pleasure of meeting Jim Becker yesterday. Jim flew in for a business meeting and had some spare time in the afternoon. What better way to spend it than to visit with other dustmakers? We both descended on Steve Jenkin's shop at very nearly the exact same time. I always enjoy meeting forum members and this was no exception. We had a great conversation and as usual I learned a couple of things in the process.

We had a great visit and since we were at Steve's we got to see a couple of his projects. He was glueing up an Ipe countertop when we arrived. We also got treated to the Cherry slab he had recently surfaced. Man was that thing huge! I had the digital, but I was definitely sidetracked just looking at the slab....so arrest me if you will. It's a thing of beauty Steve! I also liked the idea Jim sketched out for the legset...can't wait to see how that evolves!

For me the visit was too short as I had to take the wife to our ever present Tuesday nite Skaraoke gathering (yep, I spelled that right...I am the heckler).

I did get the digital out and with help got a few pics...sure was good to meet you Jim and good to see Steve again as well. Maybe next time we can gather over here and fire up the smoker...ever had a smoked tenderloin filet?

Have a good trip home after Denver Jim!

It's always a pleasure to meet other woodworkers...adding Kelly to my list was very nice! And it seems that Steve's shop has become a regular stop when I'm in the DFW area. Good conversations and there is always an incredible project or three in the works!

Creeker visits are always fun and this was obviously no exception! One of these years, I hope to make my way around to some of the more "outlying" areas to get an eyeball on more of our brethren!

There is a tour of my shop at

    http://www.shoptours.org/shop_tours/...e-jenkins.html.

I don't know that there is anywhere on SMC to post shop tours.
